This Privacy Policy describes how Miss Diaspora Ghana ("MDGH", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you apply to participate in our pageant.

What we collect

When you apply, we collect:

  • Contact information: name, email, phone number
  • Demographic information: date of birth, country of residence, current city, country of heritage
  • Application content: bio, social media handles, headshot photograph, intro video
  • Payment metadata: transaction reference (we do not store card numbers — those are tokenized by Payaza)
  • Eligibility quiz answers and consent records (with timestamp and policy version)
  • Technical metadata: hashed IP address, user-agent string

How we use it

  • To review and process your application for the current cycle
  • To contact you about your application status
  • If you opt in: to use your photo and video in promotional materials and the public finalist gallery
  • If you opt in: to send you cycle updates and future opportunities

We do not sell your information.

How long we keep it

Application records are retained for 3 years after the close of the cycle for which you applied, then permanently deleted from our database and media storage. Marketing-list subscriptions persist until you unsubscribe.

Your rights

You may request:

  • A copy of the data we hold about you
  • Correction of inaccurate data
  • Deletion of your data (subject to legitimate interest in retaining application records during the active review period)

Email applications@missdiasporagh.org with your request and the application reference number.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to applicants via email. The version applicable to your application is the one in effect when you submitted it.
